Major General William S. Rosecrans was born in Kingston Township, Delaware County, Ohio

A boulder on Rosecrans Road marks the place of his birth.

As a Civil War General he won every battle he was assigned and lost only at Chickamauga after he secured Chattanooga

Rosecrans was held in high regard by his men and was feared by his enemies.

He is the only upper echelon Civil War General without a statue
